Now that the final schedule's been released, I wanted to revisit the schedule and try to put some hype behind a few of the sessions that are going to be presented at DrupalCon in DC in a few weeks.
In addition to the one I already know I'm going to (thanks for having it twice!), there's a few that I'm most excited about.
The first one I see on the schedule to get excited about, despite the sensational name, is Totally Rocking Your Development Environment, which is presented by Sacha Chua. I have what I think is a decent setup for my IDE, but I've heard lots of good things about Eclipse and don't know too much about it. What I like, though, is that this session will go beyond what's cool about one single IDE, and will start to take about automation with Makefiles and Drush -- things I have never even considered. So, I'm glad because I think it should be right on my level and very, very useful.
I'll of course want to check out Drupal 7: What's done, what's coming, and how you can help, and not just because I heart Angie, but because of one particular thing mentioned: "revolutionary improvements to Drupal core's development process."
The first conflict I have will be between Mailing strategies for Drupal and Using SMS for Data Collection; I probably "should" go to the first one, but I really WANT to go to the second one.
In Boston, the usability session was totally worth going to, and I totally look forward to it again.
Another conflict is between Drush - command line Drupal productivity and Flash and Drupal, since I am certainly getting more interested in this Drush thing, but I also have a good e-lationship with Travis because of my contributions to the FlashVideo module that I use on ASL Expert, so I'd definitely like to meet him face-to-face.
The security track is always beneficial, and I really like Neil and Greg (don't know Matt) - so looking forward to that.
After that, I'll be wrapping it up with the Ubercart track and calling it a conference!
Of course, I'll be attending other sessions here and there, but these are the ones that I'm really the most excited about... and of course, Dries's keynote on the state of Drupal.
