I found a couple different sites/posts today, and I just had to share them.
The first is that TechCrunch is looking to build a $200 OPEN web surfing tablet, which I think they hope to call the "Firefox Tablet," but as they say, that will "take a round of discussion with Mozilla." As promised, there are some photos up of our new puppy. He doesn't actually have a name yet. If you have any suggestions, send them our way! The new images are in the gallery.
So far the top contenders are "Raleigh" and "Cote" (or "Cody," each pronounced the same basically).
Camp has kept me busy but so far, so I apologize for the lack of updates.
So, yesterday on Slashdot they featured this bug report that's on the Pidgin IM client bug tracker (http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4986). Since the slashdotting, this page on developer.pidgin.im just points to a static page, not a real bug.
I had no idea that Hardy was so close by. I'm not even sure what other cool stuff it offers that will really change me, either. But I know I want it.
Rachel and I went to the Biltmore House the other weekend. I have to say, it was MASSIVE. It's bigger than any mansion in Newport, far and away. It's tagline is "America's largest home." There was a deaf women there and she had someone interpreting the audio tour of the house for her. I have to say, for the 6 weeks I've been in sign language, I can't sign even close to half as fast as that lady did! I couldn't pick up anything!
Looks like Google Chat now allows you to be chatted from a web page! Kinda cool, huh?
For one of my classes here at Appalachian, I had to create a collage of what defines me... to describe myself and who I am and what I do. My question to you is, is there anything missing? Go over to the gallery and look for the new picture of me and Rach -- lots of photoshopping... that's a lie. A lot of GIMPing. Did the whole thing in the GIMP, actually.

I wanted a photo gallery than integrated more easily with Drupal, so you may have noticed that I scrapped Gallery2 and began using Gallerix. There's still some stuff I need to figure out (or are bugs, but more likely it's just me), like getting the captions to work, and some of the AJAXy commenting, etc using wxWidget. Nonetheless, I've got a couple of albums in there (you must be a registered user to view some of them, so make sure you log in if you have an account).
So, we got a new cat. We brought Charley up north when we came up there for the holidays, and he got to play with three other cats for the duration of the time he was there (except for that last night). We realized upon returning that he needed a playmate, so I present to you -- Abbott. We got him from a breeder a little closer to us, only 2.5 hours away in South Carolina.
